Is that enough, Mother?
Spring singnals death. Isn't that the saying? But don't worry, just like the Phoenix and Jesus, we'll soon rise again. Alas, we've one last show before we make room for the annual Funniest Person in Austin Consest** begins. Won't you make the time to see us as we're cast out of our garden/removed from the island/masterfully matriculated? We're hoping you will.

Once a season we gather up a clutch of our friends to tell their most offensive, inappropriate and cringe worthy material**. That time is upon us. If you've ever used words like Liberal or Conservative to describe yourself, we recommend you sit this one out. Seriously. We don't want to have to sift through your "you hurt my feelings" comment cards.
We'll be back to our regular antics for the SEASON FINALÉ on 03/27.

Look: we're not a bunch of idiots. We know there are about 328 stand up showcases around Austin this week. But how many of them have delivered consistent, well-curated laughs for the last 2 years? Exactly. So remember where your butter is breaded and know you're in good hands with us. Plus, we gotz parking. Or, go downtown and dodge the skinny-pants crowd. It's up to you, Suck Sack.

Dallas is known for a lot of awesome things: a dead President, Tony Romo, some The First 48 murders and now even a Kardashian. Man, that's so awesome! But D-town's not all just guns and incompltete passes. The fact is, Dallas is one of PUNCH!'s favorite places to pull talent from. Obviously you agree, because some of our most-requested acts are Dallas residents past and present. So this week: a cadre of comics who cut their teeth in the Big D. See what happens? You ask for something, we deliver. Just like we've been doing for the past 25 months. Let's make it another sold out night, Grandmas.

Face it . . . everybody loves New York. Even people who complain about its smell and bustle and attitude secretly have a soft spot for the city at the center of the universe. So, we get why it steals so much of our home-grown talent. The city is a siren and she calls - only to have our brave sons and daughters wash up cold and lonely on her shores. Wait . . . what were we talking about? Oh, right. Former FPiA Winner Lucas Molandes is headed back to Austin, and he's bringing the super-talented Brooke Van Poppelen along with him. In two words: we're stoked.

Mario is well-travelled. One, he's constantly on the road; touring the nation and rubbing flesh with his fans. He's no ivory-tower act. Two, every few years he gets a wild hare and ankles Austin for some new home. There was New York. And then the move to Portland. Now he keeps threatening another long-term walkabout. We get it: he's a husband to no city. So we'll just appreciate the time we have with the award winning comedian and author and highly-successfull T-shirt artist. You'll do the same. DO IT!

Ramin Nazer (aka Raul Nanan, aka Ban Cana, aka Also Ran) can't quit being awesome. He's one of the founders of Austin comedy authority lastgascomedy.com. In the past year he's been a runner up in the vaunted Funniest Person in Austin Contest, invited to perform at the über-prestiguos Just For Laughs | Montreal Comedy Festival and he even snagged his network television debut on The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson. Wow - that last sentence was really long. My typing fingers are out of breath now. Anyway, come watch Ramin try to be better than his friends!

We feel for you, Paula. If there's a group of people who know what it's like to reap the karma we've sown, it's us comedians. The whole unfriendly, self-absorbed, indifferent, hard-drinking, hard-living (did I mention self-absorbed, yet?) lot of us.
That's why it's awesome when other people do the effing up: you get to feel better about yourself! We kind of feel that's what PUNCH! is all about. Come learn from our irresponsible ways! Revel in our failures! Woo Hoo! Never mind that you're out drinking on a school night - logic will only screw you up. Don't think too much about it.

It feels pretty good! Austin has become a comedy hot-bed, and more and more acts are relocating to our fine burg. Still, each year a few of our best talents spread out to LA or NY in search of different challenges. We won't lie: it's a real bummer. But such is our business. Sadly, wer're once again losing some of our faves. We hope you'll come out to help us wish a big PUNCH! send off for Andy Ritchie & Ruby Collins. Their contributions to Austin over the last decade are immeasurable.
We'll miss them both.

While a host of Austin-based comedians can boast of television credits, only one can claim "Churchill Live", the biggest late-night show in Kenya. John Ramsey took a year-long leave of absence from US shores to do some good in the world, and he's just getting back to us. While he gave us a small taste of his travels on his return, this week marks his first headlining set on PUNCH! in over 15 months. Come hear tales of goats, diarrhea and why the Kenyans hate the Chinese. Poor China . . .
Kenya's native peoples don't get John Ramsey.

We have 3 final PUNCH! shows scheduled for SEASON 6 (NOV 29, DEC 6 & 13). Yep, just 3 left. The holiday season means lots of private gigs for comedians, so our line-ups will be somewhat fluid, as is expected. Bear with us while we get our acts confirmed. And just know that, as always, we can be trusted to put together the best possible shows each and every week.
Thanks.
Are you even working this Wednesday? I mean even if you're going into the office, will you really be working? We thought so. C'mon . . . you need some pre-Thanksgiving laughs just to get you through the family fights. We're here for you, yo.

We'd like to encourage all our fans to attend a special art and photography reception being held at CapCity in honor of Angela Davis and Kerry Awn. Angela is a fabulous former co-worker of ours, and Kerry Awn is an Austin institution. Both have made ENORMOUS contributions to the stand up and comedy scene in Austin. Hopefully you'll come out to mingle, meet and sip. You might want to bring your wallets as well . . . the holidays are just around the corner! Then stick around after the reception for a phenomenal PUNCH! featuring J R Brow. It's all going down this TUE, NOV 22, begining at 6:30.
Here's a bit more info from the WestWhim website: click here.

So, in one week, the long downhill slide into the Holidays begins. That means spending money you don't have, fighting with shoppers, stuffy retail centers and family. Shudder: family. Ugh.
You might as well have a little fun, right? We're here for you, player! We're still the most entertaining show in the city, and day-yum, we're still way easy on your wallet. Can we help it if we're awesome? We're the Mayors of Awesomedomvilleburgh!

We're on our way to FunFunFunFest this weekend. Sure, we're stoked about Danzig and Slayer and Public Enemey and all . . . but we're more excited about all of the great stand up comedy. Have you SEEN the roster? It looks great. Did you notice all those PUNCH! alums scattered throughout the 3-day line-up? Sweet, right?
Don't worry, the fun's not over. We're bringing you another stellar show so you don't have to start crying until Wednesday.
